The list of possible Cloud resources (networks, servers, etc.) is intentionally open-ended. We could add different types of resources to the list. So…let’s do it!

How about smartphones?

Is the phone in your pocket a Cloud resource? Well, probably not. Does it have ubiquitous, convenient, on-demand network access? Hardly. What about the rapid, automatic provisioning and deprovisioning? Rapid, possibly–the mobile phone vendors are getting better at that–but automated? In part, but there’s still a human in the loop when you provision a mobile phone.
