My two cents :
1. As far as WebSphere* technology is concerned, seems too generic.
2. Too high level a view to depict the interaction between the components. But, maybe that is the intention of this schematic.

Yes, the intention was to evaluate the entire suite for its utilization of open standards.
That is, whether individual components may be used (and used well) apart from the rest of the suite.
