“The key part of this announcement is IBM’s Application Value Optimization service,” said Jason Bloomberg, an analyst with ZapThink LLC, in Waltham, Mass.

“This service is a part of their overall SOA consulting offering, alongside business enablement, design and implementation services. The AVO offering is the most business-oriented of these offerings, focusing on business alignment, transformation and management. Basically, IBM is rounding out their SOA consulting offering by providing soup-to-nuts technology and business services,” Bloomberg said.
