Jason Bloomberg, a senior analyst with the Waltham-based analyst firm ZapThink, said Water is a “seriously cool technology.” ZapThink is dedicated specifically to XML and Web services.

“We have to remember that the path to success is littered with seriously cool technology that never made it,” Bloomberg said. “There’s no question that it’s a brilliant innovation, but there’s no guarantee that it will take off. The real unknown here is going to be Silvestri. It’s going to be up to him to add the business aspect to the company.”
